The BIG Announcement

A couple weeks ago I alluded to a big announcement that was coming.  Here it is.

This morning, I officially announced my resignation as the Associate Pastor of Main Street Baptist Church.  My final day will be July 13.

God has led me to accepted an invitation to join the faculty of Campbellsville University.  Starting August 1st, I will be an assistant professor of Educational Ministries at CU.  I will be teaching four classes this fall (Intro. to Youth Ministry, Intro to Educational Ministries, and 2 Religion-in-Life).  This is truly a God-sized dream come true.

This morning was terribly difficult.  I was an emotional mess.  I love Main Street so much.  My family loves Main Street so much.  But we could not deny God’s work and hand in this.  We had prayed that if it was not His plan, doors would be closed.  But doors were continually opened and we are following His guidance into this next step.

For those of you from Main Street, Jennifer, the boys, and I love you all greatly and have loved being a part of your family.  To all my CU friends and family, we will see you soon.

  1. That is awesome! There is no denying when God’s hand is in it (why else would we move to Charlotte?). We’re praying for you guys and the transition to C-ville! We love you guys.

  2. You did well both services. I think the spontaneous response at the end of both services was both an affirmation of how well you handled the communication and also your position of respect in our congregation. Thank you!

You have truly been a blessing to our church and to my life. I will miss you and your family, but know that you are pursuing the dream God has placed in your heart. I know you will have a tremendous impact on the young adults that you will be teaching and mentoring. That makes it all worth it in eternity. Who knows, maybe in the meantime we’ll run into you down there visiting relatives. Otherwise, it’s nice to keep up with you via your blog. Blessings!

You will be missed. Best of luck in this new phase of life. Campbellsville sounds like a nice place (of course, Campbell was my maiden name).

Congrats on the new position. I have two students leaving for CU in August, and I am excited to they will have opps to learn under you and to get to know you. I talked to Dr H yesterday and he is super pumped about your arrival.
